Vaishna Roy brings up important points in her article. While men lead their important lives, women are busy catching up to things that have been done to them in the past. Men are not accountable because either they were too drunk or the women’s skirt was too short. So in either case it was no their fault.
Women need to be nudged so that they can claim their rights. We should have "brave spaces" where were can voice our concerns. We are not alone in this and we need to build a community that supports one another.
Thank you for sharing this article highlighting how the #MeToo movement is spreading to India as well. I wonder how we can nudge the most reluctant women who have been affected by sexual violence when they see prominent, influential women getting such pushback in the media? We see many women standing up and defending each other, but we need to see more powerful men taking this on as well to change the culture of what is considered "masculinity".
